Early Mail Ballot

 

Who May Apply for an Early Mail Ballot

Any registered voter may apply for an early mail ballot. Each person must apply for themselves.

  • Early Mail Voting Applications will be posted on the district website beginning on April 22, 2024, or picked up from the Administrative Center, 21 Babylon Road in Merrick.
  • Early Mail Voting Ballot Applications cannot be accepted prior to April 22, 2024. All Early Mail Voting Ballots must be filed with the District Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
  • Ballots will be issued upon the satisfactory completion and submission of the application form.
  • The deadline for filing an Early Mail Voting Ballot Application, if the ballot is to be mailed to the resident, is Tuesday, May 14, 2024.
  • The deadline for filing an Early Mail Voting Ballot Application, if the ballot is to be personally delivered to the resident, is Monday, May 20, 2024.
  • Early Mail Voting Ballots may be issued to third parties representing the voter provided the third party is identified on the Early Mail Voting Ballot Application and is able to provide proper identification when picking-up the ballot from the Office of the District Clerk.

 

Absentee Ballot

 

Who May Apply for an Absentee Ballot

You may qualify to vote absentee for the following reasons:

  1. Absent from your county on Election Day.
  2. Unable to appear at the polls due to temporary or permanent illness or disability.
  3. Unable to appear because you are the primary care giver of one or more individuals who are ill or physically disabled.
  4. A resident or patient of a Veterans Health Administration Hospital.
  5. In jail or prison for any reason other than a felony conviction. This includes anyone who is awaiting grand jury action, awaiting trial, or serving a sentence for a misdemeanor.
  • Absentee Ballot Applications will be posted on the district website beginning on April 22, 2024, or picked up from the Administrative Center, 21 Babylon Road in Merrick.
  • Absentee Ballot Applications will not be received prior to April 22, 2024. All Absentee Ballots must be filed with the District Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Military Ballots

Military Ballot Applications may be obtained from the Office of the District Clerk and submitted to the District Clerk, by mail, no later than Thursday, April 25, 2024.  Military Ballots must be filed with the District Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
