Merrick School District

Here at the Lakeside School, we are very fortunate to have access to so many books and the experiences that come with them. We are grateful for this but also recognize that we must give. We understand that not all kids go to school where every classroom is filled with books. This is why we decided to donate to the “Book Faries.” We collected books for one week. The response was overwhelming! The Lakeside Lions donated thousands of books. In all, twenty-seven boxes will make their way to the Book Fairies. They will be distributed to children all across Long Island. It gives us such a warm feeling to know that other children will enjoy the adventures that books can provide. Thank you to all the Lions who donated their pre-loved books. We want to help everyone feel the same joy that we do while reading.
