VIDEO: Chatterton School Commemorates 25th Anniversary of September 11

In recognition of the 25th anniversary of September 11, the C School community came together Friday morning to remember and honor those who lost their lives and reflect on the courage, compassion, and kindness that followed.
Students and staff wore red, white, and blue in a show of solidarity and gathered outside for a brief commemorative ceremony featuring the Pledge of Allegiance, a patriotic poem, a moment of silence, and the National Anthem. The ceremony also included special musical performances by sixth-grade teacher James Keenan on bagpipes and front-desk security guard Mr. Steve on drums.
Throughout the day, students and staff also participated in a “25 Acts of Kindness” Challenge, performing simple acts of kindness such as helping others, offering encouragement, including someone who may feel left out, and doing something thoughtful for a member of the school community.
"We realize this might be a difficult day for many, and we hope these opportunities to come together, remember, and show kindness will help strengthen our school community and our commitment to the American Spirit,” noted Principal Dana Bermas.
