Birch School Community Comes Together for Annual Fun Run

On Oct. 9, students and staff at Birch School came together for the annual Birch Fun Run, a schoolwide celebration of fitness, healthy habits and community spirit.
Throughout the all-day event, students took turns running laps around the school field during designated times in the school day. Cheered on by their parent volunteers and school community, students celebrated their accomplishments beneath a festive balloon arch and received completion medals to commemorate their participation.
The Fun Run was the highlight of Birch’s Health and Wellness Week, which featured a variety of activities designed to encourage students to prioritize their physical health and overall well-being.
“Children tried new foods, walked to school, drank lots of water, were thoughtful with their minds and bodies, and limited their screen time,” stated Principal Kerri Galante.
Families and community supporters were invited to sponsor a student, helping Birch promote the importance of healthy habits while supporting the school community.
The event’s success was made possible by the generosity of local businesses that sponsored the run, along with the dedication of the Birch PTA and the Fun Run Committee, a team of parent volunteers who worked together to organize the event and create a memorable experience for students.
