Merrick School District

The Merrick Summer Recreation program is in full swing, welcoming more than 250 students for a season of fun and enrichment. Taking place at Levy Lakeside School from July 1 through Aug. 1, the program is led by educators Melissa Robinson and Kelley Merkle and staffed with certified teachers and counselors who provide a safe, engaging environment for students in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Designed to keep children active and engaged during the summer months, the program offers hands-on experiences that help ease new students into the school community while also fostering friendships old and new.

Campers are grouped by school and rotate through five daily activity periods. Each session features a different theme, including creative arts like painting, jewelry, pillow making and needlepoint, along with indoor and outdoor gym time. Additional options include board and card games, music, computer activities and STEAM-based exploration, ensuring that every child finds something to enjoy.
