Superintendent Celebrates Dr. Seuss’s Birthday with Birch Kindergarteners

Kindergarten students at Birch School celebrated the birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss with a week of literacy-themed fun and special activities.
As part of the celebration, Superintendent Diana Ketcham visited a kindergarten classroom to read the classic picture book, “Ten Apples Up On Top!” During the interactive read-aloud, students eagerly joined in, helping to read the rhyming text and count the apples as they stacked higher and higher on the characters’ heads.
The visit highlighted the joy of reading while encouraging young learners to practice counting, rhyming, and participation in storytelling.
“This was such a joy for me and a fantastic way to top off our Dr. Seuss celebration,” the superintendent said.
